Room to Breathe

the construction fence was moved off public land on Sept 6, 2024

As first reported by fellow Friends of Hidden Beach member, Matt, and consequently confirmed by other FOHB’ers who ran down for a swim and a peek: the construction fence has been moved back to the north property owner’s property line (nearly 2 years after it was permitted). A collective exhale was released by all.

FOHB is a loose group of neighbors, friends, and beachgoers … we had no indication when the fence went up or when it would retreat. We have no idea if our efforts have helped — or if the fence will return. But we are thrilled to see public land back in public use.

The driveway, trees, and irrigation system of the south homeowner remain permitted on public land. We’ll continue to work on returning as much of that public land to public use as possible.

Today we rejoice and enjoy the land and lake as it was intended. Woot!
