PHASE 1
For over 75 years East Harrison Street End (aka Hidden Beach) has been a public Street End under Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), and this remains true today. In recent years, encroachments have threatened the long history of this public gem. Friends of Hidden Beach (FOHB) has a plan in review with SDOT that will further establish and protect Hidden Beach.
FOHB must raise the money to carry out the plan.
PHASE 1 / $100,000 (estimated budget)
$10,000 - landscape architect
$5,000 - arborist
$60,000 - landscaping, hardscaping, stabilize shoreline, increase accessibility
$25,000 - legal fees (We are required to plan for inevitable legal challenges)
Our Street Improvement Permit: SUSIP0000667
Our SDOT application: SUCONST0004094
Our SDCI Shoreline Exemption Permit Application: 002659-23PA
Hardscape: Our proposed Site Plan

FOHB is all volunteer. We donate our time for meetings with SDOT, researching regulations, and maintaining the website. We roll up our sleeves for weekend work parties.
The funds we raise will go directly to legal fees, architects, arborists, and labor beyond our abilities.
Thank you to our partners at Lakewood Seward Park Neighborhood Association (a local nonprofit 501c) for helping us collect these donations. We truly couldn’t do this work without their support.
